Google Music Outside U.S.

Google's free cloud music storage service, Google Music, is currently only available in the United States. But, you can access it outside US too. Just follow the steps below. :-

1. Install TunnelBear. Though there are many VPNs out there, including Tor and Hotspot Shield, none of them is as easy to use as TunnelBear, without any setting to do. Also, the TunnelBear interface is really slick.

2.  Sign up for a free account. The whole process will take 5 minutes.

3.  Select US as country and turn it on. You now have a US Based IP.

4. Go to music.google.com and login with your Gmail account. You will get a message saying you have logged in from a new location. Don't fret, as that means that you are successful. Accept the Terms and Conditions and you are done.

5. Make sure you turn TunnelBear off. Enjoy.

Nokia Disappoints

So, Stephen Elop showed us the Nokia Windows Phones that are supposedly Nokia's salvation. There is no doubt that the once strong Finish giant has fallen into troubled times. It had lost its market share to Android as well as to the iPhone, Symbian is a decaying platform that feels archaic and is not optimized for touch at all. And in an act of complete foolishness, the Meego platform which is an excellent OS and has a large developer base was abandoned to make way for Windows Phone 7, which IMO, isn't as functional or complete as its competition.
But lacking small features in the company's 'flagship' phone like a front facing camera, LTE and a single core processor when quad core processors are on the horizon will surely hurt the company. And the lack of a Super AMOLED screen in a time where 720px screens are being introduced is a bummer. Also, 16GB isn't enough these days.  This all wouldn't have mattered much if Nokia had got the pricing right. But pricing it near what the best of today like the Galaxy SII are priced at will hurt Nokia. Even Windows Phone 7 fans will be better off chosing something like the Samsung Focus or HTC HD7 and save around $200. There is no doubt Nokia makes amazing hardware (the looks of N9 are a testimony). It is just the software part and the marketing that they have to get right. Elsewhere,  they will continue to sink.

Hello World

Now, this isn’t my first blog. I have  had about 6-7 blogs, but never quite updated them up. Part of the reason was that I spent most of the time in finding a perfect blog name/theme/URL that I never got time to write a long post.
But this blog is going to be different. I am using the most basic and clean theme I can find, so I promise (for the hundredth  time ;) ) that I am going to update it regularly.
Stay tuned.
